text to speech update

I've been testing text to speech again for the new school year to see what's new and improved.  I am not happy with how Windows 7 built in speech recognition works, but continue to be impressed with how easy and flexible the web based free solutions work.  Some examples of these are:

Text Typer

Speechlogger

Chrome also has a built in extension like solution:
Dictation

The above are all browser based solutions that run on minimal resources.  All you need is a Chrome browser, so even a cheap Chromebook can do this, where Nuance based software such as Dragon Dictation cannot.  No voice training is necessary, and it uses the web to figure out the context of your dictation to improve accuracy.

Speechlogger also has a notebook function as well as a live translation feature into other languages which utilizes the google translate engines very well in an easy to use manner.

The chome DICTATION ap also will remember your work without saving in case you have to quickly change tasks, which is a nice feature.
